Turn every walk into a quest
Legends in Motion is a free walking adventure that draws a pixel-art fantasy world over a real map of your streets. The map starts covered in fog, and the fog lifts wherever you walk — so the more you explore, the more of your world you uncover, and the map you reveal stays yours.
Along the way you'll meet characters like Innkeeper Marra, Courier Brun and the Trail Guide, open your first welcome gift and follow your first clues. Steps and distance walked count towards achievements.
Trails made by real places
Trails are routes of stops to discover on foot:
- Caches you reach by walking close to them.
- Treasure chests, some locked with a code you'll need to work out.
- QR checkpoints to find and scan with your camera.
- Puzzles — multiple choice, words or numbers.
- Conversations with characters, followed by quiz questions.
- Landmarks to check in at.
Finish stops and trails to earn XP, items and collectible medals designed by the organisation behind the trail. When a trail ends you choose whether to keep the map you uncovered.
Museums, attractions, local businesses, schools and clubs publish trails at their own places. Scan a printed QR poster and the trail is added to your game — sometimes with a welcome gift — or tap Find trails near me.
Built for schools and clubs
Group leaders can run private trails for a class or club. Pupils join with a group code or a printed pass and use a nickname — no Google account, email address or date of birth needed — and their map and position aren't saved. Leaders can pause a trail, end a session, and tick off a stop for anyone without signal.
Safety by design
No chat, no public leaderboards and no live location sharing. Organisations only ever see totals for their trails, never who walked where.

Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. There are no adverts and nothing to buy to play. Organisations' publishing tools are arranged separately.
Do organisers see where I walk?
No. For public trails they only see totals, such as how many people scanned a poster or reached each stop, and small numbers are hidden. In school and club groups, leaders can see which stops each nickname has completed — never locations or live tracking.
Does my child need a Google account for a school trail?
No. Pupils join with a group code or a pass printed by their teacher and use a nickname. No email address or date of birth is needed, and their map and position aren't saved.
Why does it need my location and camera?
Location lifts the fog and checks when you've reached a stop; arrival positions are checked and then thrown away. The camera is only used to scan QR codes, on your phone, and nothing is uploaded.
What if I can't reach a stop or have no GPS?
Many stops are puzzles or QR checkpoints, and in a group your leader can mark a stop complete for you.
