Strongerbound Privacy Policy

Strongerbound is an app made by LogiNestForge ("we", "us") in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what the app stores, where, and the choices you have. It applies under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

LogiNestForge is the controller for personal data processed through Strongerbound. You can contact us at support@loginestforge.uk.

Data that stays on your phone

Most of Strongerbound works offline with no account, and this data is stored only on your device. It is never sent to us:

• Your companion, profile and preferences (experience, interests, equipment, preferred days, limitations and weekly goal).
• Activities and workouts: type, time, duration, distance, notes, sets and weights, plans, templates and goals.
• Water, drinks and your food journal, including any meal photos. Photos are taken with your phone's own camera app and re-saved by Strongerbound, which removes location details stored in the image.
• Optional nutrition-guide details: year of birth, sex, height and weight.
• GPS points recorded during a walk or run. These are deleted after the session unless you turn on Keep route shapes. Privacy zones you set are also stored only on your phone.

The app opts out of Android cloud backup. You can export everything as a file, or delete it, from Settings.

Location

Strongerbound uses your precise location only while you're recording a walk or run with GPS, to measure distance and draw your route. It never uses location in the background, and you can record by timer instead.

Health Connect (optional)

If you allow it, the app reads exercise sessions and distance from Health Connect so activity from other apps and watches counts, and can write sessions you log in Strongerbound back to Health Connect if you turn that on. This happens on your device. Data obtained from Health Connect is used only to show your own progress, is not transferred to us or anyone else, is not used for advertising, and is not sold. You can revoke access in Settings › Health Connect or in the Health Connect app. Strongerbound's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Food lookups

When you search for a food or scan a barcode, only the search text or barcode is sent to Open Food Facts to look it up. Barcode scanning uses the Google Play services code scanner, so the app doesn't need camera permission.

Friends features (optional)

Friend challenges, parties and clubs need a Google sign-in. Firebase Authentication receives your Google account ID and email address; your email is never shown to other people. Our server (Google Firebase, London region) stores:

• Your profile: the nickname and companion type you choose.
• Friend challenges: simple daily yes/no facts (such as "was active" or "did strength"), up to two walk counts a day, cheers and reactions. We never receive your activities, times, places, routes, food, drinks, notes, Health Connect data or photos.
• Parties: workouts or runs you choose to share (type, date, duration, distance, exercise count, caption and, if you include it, a route outline with the first and last 200 metres and your privacy zones trimmed off).
• Clubs: membership and role, event RSVPs and attendance, and progress facts only if you switch on sharing (off by default; turning it off deletes what was shared).
• Safety: invites, blocks and reports.

Other members of a challenge, party or club can see what you share with that group. Leaving a group deletes what you shared there.

Purchases

Strongerbound offers an optional Plus subscription, one-off cosmetic packs and an Organiser subscription for clubs, all through Google Play. Google processes the payment and we never see your card details. To check purchases, the app creates an anonymous account (linked to your Google account if you later sign in), and our server verifies each purchase with Google Play and stores the purchase token, product, type and expiry date with that account.

How we use it and our lawful basis

• To provide the app, the friends features you choose and any purchases — contract.
• To keep friends features safe, including handling blocks and reports — legitimate interests.

We don't use your data for advertising or analytics, there are no ad or analytics SDKs in the app, and we never sell your data.

Third-party services

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, App Check) — friends features and purchase checks. Firebase privacy information

Notifications

Reminders are created on your phone and never include food or health details. A notification is also shown while a session is recording.

Children

Strongerbound is for adults 18 and over, and the app asks you to confirm your age when you start.

How long we keep it

• Data on your phone: until you delete it or uninstall the app.
• Finished friend challenges and expired invites: about 90 days.
• Party posts and reactions: up to 365 days, or until you leave the party.
• Reports: up to 365 days.
• Your friends account: until you delete it.

Your choices and rights

• Export: Settings › Your data lets you export everything on your phone.
• Delete: Settings › Your data › Delete all my data for your phone, and Settings › Friends account › Delete my friends account and shared data for our server. You can also use our account deletion page or email us.

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its use, and to data portability. Email support@loginestforge.uk to exercise any of these rights. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if the app changes the way it handles personal data. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
